At your doorAbout a week

When a freeze hits the forecast, faucet covers can sell out at hardware stores. Get yours before the rush.

See how it goes on

Slip it over, pull the strap, done.

Three steps before the first freeze

The cover is the last step, not the only one. Here's the whole routine.

  1. Take the hose off
    Step 1

    Take the hose off

A hose left on holds water in the faucet. Unhook it, drain it and put it away.

    Do this first
  2. Shut off and drain, if you can
    Step 2

Shut off and drain, if you can

If your house has an inside shutoff for the outside faucet, turn it off, then open the outside faucet so the line drains.

Check the basement or crawl space
  3. Put the cover on Where the cover comes in
    Step 3

    Put the cover on

Slip it over the faucet and pull the strap snug against the wall. Leave it on all winter.

    No tools needed

That faucet goes further into your house than it looks.

From the outside, it's a bit of metal on the wall. But it's the end of a water line that runs through the wall and into your house. When a hard cold snap hits, water in that line can freeze, and the damage isn't always at the faucet. Sometimes it's inside the wall, where you can't see it.

customer rating From real customer emails

No more plastic bags and tape

I used to improvise with whatever I could find in the garage. These are far neater and easier to secure, which means I'm actually getting the job done before a cold night.

Sandra G.Customer email

So much easier than the foam kind

Those hard foam covers used to be a nuisance every year. The VARNK one slipped over my faucet and fastened quickly, which makes preparing for a freeze much less annoying.

Cheryl H.Customer email

Stayed on through the wind

We get strong winds where I live, so I care as much about the fastening as the insulation. The covers remained in place when I checked them.

Harriet R.Customer email

Learned not to assume freeze proof means worry free

We had a supposedly freeze resistant faucet crack before. I know a cover isn't a guarantee, but I like adding one more simple precaution instead of relying on assumptions.

Rosa H.Customer email

A housewarming gift that actually matters

A new homeowner might not even think about the faucets on the outside wall. I liked giving something practical that makes getting ready for winter easier.

Tina V.Customer email

Both sides of our house are covered

New Jersey winters can get rough, and we have faucets on opposite sides of the house. It feels good to have a simple way to add insulation after doing the usual winterizing steps.

Annie M.Customer email

The faucets are one less thing to worry about

I wanted to get ahead of winter this year instead of scrambling when the forecast turns ugly. The VARNK covers were simple to fit over both outdoor faucets, and I like knowing I've taken another sensible step to protect the house.

Patty M.Customer email

Finally feel prepared for the cold

I was looking for something that would give our outdoor faucets a little extra shielding from cold wind and moisture. These feel substantial, fasten securely, and made winter prep feel a lot less intimidating.

Linda D.Customer email

One little job checked off

Put the VARNK covers on today. Took hardly any effort, and I'm glad that's handled before the first freeze.

Carol W.Customer email

Ready before the temperatures drop

We've only had one chilly night so far, so I can't speak to a whole winter yet. But the covers are on already, and it feels good not to be leaving it until the last minute.

Susan S.Customer email

Covered all the outside faucets

I bought these to get the spigots around the house ready for winter. The material feels sturdy, and I like seeing everything covered before the cold arrives.

Barbara L.Customer email

Part of my winter routine now

Every fall I go around the house and take care of the outside faucets. A cover that's easy to put on makes that one of the simpler jobs on the list.

Diane A.Customer email

Worth having something reusable

The material feels thicker than I expected. I wanted a cover I could pack away and use again rather than buying throwaway winter supplies every year.

Teresa T.Customer email

Glad we didn't wait for the freeze

We had a freeze warning and I was suddenly thinking about every outdoor pipe. I put the VARNK covers on after getting the faucets ready, and while I can't know exactly what difference they made, I felt a lot better having taken that precaution.

Michelle P.Customer email

Cheaper than dealing with a plumbing headache

I have no interest in learning what a damaged outdoor faucet costs to repair. Getting the hoses disconnected and the VARNK covers fitted was such an easy bit of preparation that I wish I'd done it sooner.

Donna N.Customer email

Wanted an extra layer of protection

After dealing with a frozen faucet before, I wanted to be more careful this year. I appreciate having a flexible insulated cover I can add after the rest of my winterizing is done.

Nancy B.Customer email

Doesn't make the house look cluttered

The cover fits my outside faucet without sticking out like a huge plastic shell. The reflective detail is handy too, especially on the darker side of the house.

Janet E.Customer email

Easy to get on

I just fitted mine and it was straightforward. Winter hasn't really tested it yet, but I'm happy to have one less thing still sitting on my to do list.

Deborah K.Customer email

Bought these ahead of the cold

With the temperatures dropping soon, I wanted the outside faucets sorted out now. The padded material feels reassuring, and the setup was easier than my old covers.

Sharon V.Customer email

Simple and solid

Nothing complicated here. I put it over the faucet, tightened it up, and moved on to the rest of the winter checklist.

Kathy J.Customer email

Good thing to have on hand

For something I only think about when the forecast changes, I appreciate how quickly this goes on. It makes being prepared feel easy.

Pamela C.Customer email

Exactly the precaution I wanted

I didn't need a big project. I wanted a simple insulated cover to put on my outside faucet after winterizing it, and this fits the bill.

Denise O.Customer email

Fits without fuss

I was worried it wouldn't sit properly around the spigot. It tightened up nicely, so I'm not constantly looking outside wondering if the cover is still there.

Joanne R.Customer email

Small purchase, good peace of mind

There are enough expensive things to maintain in a house. I like being able to handle this small piece of winter preparation without much effort.

Brenda F.Customer email

Looks well made

The stitching and fabric feel thoughtfully put together. It's nice to have something that looks ready for outdoor use instead of a makeshift wrap.

Lisa M.Customer email

Happy I got them

The covers went on easily and look secure. Sometimes the best home purchases are the ones that simply cross a worry off your list.

Karen D.Customer email

Installed, waiting on winter

The covers fit snugly. We haven't had a proper freeze yet, but I'd much rather be ready early than remember the faucets after temperatures fall.

Cindy W.Customer email

Useful little winter item

Such a simple thing, but I like having something made specifically for the outdoor faucets instead of guessing what to use.

Patricia S.Customer email

Feels like good quality

I wanted something with a little substance to it, and the VARNK material feels solid in hand. I'm glad I got it before cold weather arrives.

Ellen L.Customer email

Glad I retired the foam covers

I used to wrestle with the rigid styrofoam kind. This takes far less effort to put on, which makes the whole winter prep routine easier.

Marie A.Customer email

Just what was missing

I had the hoses put away but kept looking at the uncovered faucets. These completed that part of my winter checklist.

Gloria P.Customer email

Easy to remove when I need the tap

I can get the cover off without a struggle when I need to use the faucet, then put it back on. Practical little detail that makes a difference.

Rebecca N.Customer email

Came back for more

I liked having covers on the first set of outdoor faucets, so I wanted the rest handled too. There's something reassuring about going into winter knowing I haven't left one exposed.

Elaine B.Customer email

Does what I needed

Wanted an insulated cover for the outside faucet, and this is simple to install. No complicated hardware or setup.

Angela E.Customer email

Nice to cover both sides of the house

We have more than one outdoor faucet and I didn't want to overlook either. These were easy to fit and gave me one less winter chore to think about.

Julie K.Customer email

Peace of mind when the forecast dips

Every time the forecast shows freezing temperatures, I think about the outdoor faucets. Having insulated covers in place feels like a sensible extra precaution.

Christine H.Customer email

Perfect for what I needed

The cover slipped over my spigot and fastened the way I hoped. Simple, neat, and ready for colder nights.

Rachel J.Customer email

Better than struggling with a foam shell

My old styrofoam cover was awkward to fit and store. I prefer the flexibility of this one and the way it packs away afterward.

Amy C.Customer email

Ready for another cold season

I appreciate a winter prep item that isn't complicated. It feels durable and takes very little time to put on.

Melissa O.Customer email

Pretty clever little cover

I hadn't thought much about covering the faucet until I started preparing the house. Now it seems like such an obvious extra precaution.

Judith R.Customer email

One less exposed faucet

It's not a glamorous purchase, but I feel better when everything outside is buttoned up for winter. The VARNK cover fits right into that routine.

Beth F.Customer email

Thick and easy to secure

What I like is that it feels padded and the fastening is straightforward. I want it to stay in place through normal winter weather, not become another thing to fuss with.

Helen D.Customer email

Didn't even know these existed

I saw these while looking at winter preparation ideas. Such a simple way to make the outdoor faucet feel less overlooked.

Vicki W.Customer email

Easy choice

It does the simple job I bought it for: covers the outside faucet without a lot of fuss.

Monica S.Customer email

Better fit than I expected

Our faucets are nothing fancy, and the covers sat around them nicely. I was looking for something practical, not another project around the house.

Jennifer L.Customer email

Alaska winter made me take prep seriously

Cold weather here is no joke. I don't rely on a cover alone, but adding an insulated layer to the faucets is a precaution I feel better taking.

Kimberly A.Customer email

Bought them before I needed them

We haven't had the kind of freeze that would really test these yet. I'd still rather have the covers ready now than be hunting around when a storm is coming.

Rosa T.Customer email

Glad these were in the garage

When the weather turned cold, I already had the covers and could get the outside faucets ready quickly. That alone made buying them worthwhile.

Lori P.Customer email

No more late night faucet worrying

I used to think about the outside faucets every time temperatures dropped. After getting them winterized and covered, I feel like I've done something useful instead of just hoping for the best.

Tammy N.Customer email

The insulation feels substantial

The cover has a nice padded feel and goes on without trouble. I wanted an extra layer around the exposed spigot, and that is what this provides.

Connie B.Customer email

Looks better than those gray domes

The old covers were bulky and took up space in the garage. These look tidier on the house and flatten down nicely when it's time to store them.

Wendy G.Customer email

Seems made to last

Our old foam covers were getting beat up. This material feels tougher, and I appreciate having something reusable for the winter routine.

April E.Customer email

I like the secure closure

The reflective strip is a thoughtful touch, but my favorite thing is how neatly this tightens around the faucet. I feel better seeing it properly secured.

Debra K.Customer email

Exactly the kind of thing I wanted

It is a simple cover, and that's the appeal. I can do this part of winter prep in minutes.

Stephanie H.Customer email

Protecting the faucet before there's a problem

I don't want to be scrambling after a hard freeze. Disconnecting the hose and putting the VARNK cover on feels like a small step worth taking now.

Janice V.Customer email

Faster than I expected

I thought this would be another annoying house chore. It was actually very easy, which makes it more likely I'll keep up with it each winter.

Paula J.Customer email

Haven't tested it in a hard freeze yet

The construction looks functional, and it fits my faucet. I'm glad to have the added insulation ready, even though the real cold hasn't hit here yet.

Theresa C.Customer email

Finally found a cover that fits

The rigid covers wouldn't sit right after our faucet was replaced. A flexible design was exactly what I needed to finish preparing that spot for winter.

Marcia O.Customer email

Stayed where I put it

I like how the fastening grips around the faucet. I don't want to keep going outside to readjust a loose cover every windy evening.

Gail R.Customer email

Feeling better about winter prep

I got the outdoor line ready for the cold and finished with these covers. It's nice to know that part of the house has had some attention.

Robin F.Customer email

Even Florida gets freeze warnings

Our winters are milder, but those random freezing nights always seem to catch people off guard. Having covers ready for the outside faucets makes the forecast a little less stressful.

Jeanette M.Customer email

Fits our hose tap nicely

A good fit was the main thing I cared about. It slips over the faucet and lets me tighten the opening around the base.

Joyce D.Customer email

Covered the spots I usually forget

I had outdoor taps in places I barely thought about. Seeing them all covered after winter prep gives me a much better feeling going into cold weather.

Charlotte W.Customer email

Myrtle Beach cold snaps are no joke

We're not the first place people think of for deep freezes, but last winter was a reminder to prepare. This is a small precaution that makes a lot of sense to me.

Nina S.Customer email

No instructions marathon

Slip it over, fasten it, done. I appreciate anything that makes winter preparation easier instead of more complicated.

Bonnie A.Customer email

The two pack was convenient

I wanted to deal with both outdoor faucets in one go. The covers fit securely, and now they're both crossed off my list.

Sherry T.Customer email

Not going back to loose styrofoam

My previous covers never seemed to stay on. The VARNK fastening feels much easier to manage, especially when winter weather gets windy.

Trish P.Customer email

Even the dog hasn't moved it

The old covers were easy to knock around. This one fastens more closely, which makes me feel better about leaving it on outside.

Sheila N.Customer email

A tidy solution for winter

I just wanted something to cover the spigot neatly. It's better than staring at an exposed faucet every time a cold front comes through.

Martha B.Customer email

Midwest winters taught me to prepare early

When the temperature drops below zero, the last thing I want is an unfinished winter checklist. These are a handy extra layer after we've taken care of the plumbing basics.

Beverly G.Customer email

Could not be simpler

Easy on, easy to secure, and one less thing to deal with before freezing weather arrives.

Eileen K.Customer email

Glad I was prepared

The buying and setup experience was straightforward. It's comforting to have winter supplies ready rather than make a last minute run to the store.

Kate V.Customer email

Just in time for the ice storm

We had an ice storm in the forecast and I didn't want to leave the outdoor faucets uncovered. These went on quickly after we winterized them, and I was glad that job was finished.

Lauren J.Customer email

Ready for the next winter

It's good to have something simple that I can use as part of my cold weather prep rather than improvising every year.

Melissa C.Customer email

One less thing on my mind

I know there are several steps to protecting plumbing, but covering the exposed faucet was one that I could take care of quickly. That was a relief.

Margaret O.Customer email

Worth keeping in the winter bin

I like being able to pull these out as soon as the cold season starts. No digging through the garage for tape or scraps of insulation.

Maggie F.Customer email

Feels stronger than my old covers

The material feels sturdier than the foam shells I've used. I'll see how it holds up, but I already like how it goes on.

Janice M.Customer email

Texas storms made me more careful

After the winter storms we've seen, I want to do whatever practical preparation makes sense. These covers are easy to add after getting the faucets ready.

Yvonne D.Customer email

Easy when I need the faucet again

Being able to remove and refit it quickly is what sold me. It helps make winter prep something I'll actually stick with.

Deanna W.Customer email

Nice not having to hunt in stores

I ordered these ahead of the freeze instead of gambling on finding covers at the last minute. They went on easily, and I'm glad I planned ahead.

Bethany S.Customer email

So much easier during a cold snap

We got the covers on quickly instead of wrestling with towels and foam. That makes a difference when you're trying to get the house ready before temperatures drop.

Mary A.Customer email

Simple and effective setup

Nothing fancy, just a cover that's easy to fit and secure. It's a useful piece of the bigger winterization checklist.

Christina T.Customer email

Smart little home purchase

Fits over the faucet without making it difficult to access when necessary. I like having this precaution ready for colder nights.

Nicole P.Customer email

Helpful for an unusual faucet setup

Our faucet has an awkward hose arrangement, so I appreciate the flexible design. I still disconnect and drain things correctly before covering it for a freeze.

Sylvia N.Customer email

Ready for Texas weather

Those sudden Texas freezes can be stressful. I wanted to have the outdoor faucets winterized and covered well before another warning.

Heather B.Customer email

Easy extra insulation

The cover slips on easily. I like that it adds a practical layer around the exposed faucet as part of cold weather prep.

Regina G.Customer email

A real upgrade from foam

I used to deal with loose foam covers every winter. The adjustable fastening on this is much more convenient, and even the backyard commotion hasn't knocked it loose.

Val E.Customer email

Fits, which is what I needed

It fits my outdoor taps without any struggle. That makes me feel better going into winter, knowing I could get the setup done right away.

Hannah V.Customer email

Good straightforward product

Wanted a quick way to cover the faucet after prepping it for winter. This does that without making things complicated.

Diana C.Customer email

Happy I bought ahead of winter

I fitted the covers before the severe cold arrived. They looked snug and the setup was easy; the real test will be how they hold up as the season goes on.

Carol O.Customer email

Stayed secured through storms

I can't say for certain what impact a cover had on the temperature inside the pipe, but mine stayed on through storms. That reliable fit is what I was hoping for.

Ann R.Customer email

Neat fit on the spigot

Lightweight, easy to tighten, and not bulky on the side of the house. I like having a simple extra barrier in place when the cold weather comes.

Florence F.Customer email

If it doesn't fit, send it back.

You've got 30 days. If the cover doesn't fit your faucet, or you just don't like it, send it back for your money.

Questions people ask

Is a cover enough on its own?

No. Take the hose off first. If your house has an indoor shutoff for the outside faucet, turn it off and drain the line. Then put the cover on. The cover is the extra layer, not the shutoff.

Do I still need to take the hose off?

Yes. A hose left on can trap water in the faucet. That's step one, cover or no cover.

Will it fit my faucet?

It's made for standard wall mounted outdoor faucets. The cover is 8.3 inches tall and 6.7 inches wide. If you have a big backflow or anti siphon head, measure before you order.

Will it stay on in the wind?

Pull the strap snug against the wall. It's a strap, not tape, so it won't peel off. Customers in windy spots have told us theirs stayed put.

What about a really hard freeze?

The cover slows heat loss on the part you can see. It doesn't heat the pipe. In a long, hard freeze, shutting off and draining the line from inside is the bigger step, if you have that valve.

How many do I need?

One per outside faucet. Walk around the house and count. The one on the side or the back is the one people forget.

Can I use it again next year?

Yes. Take it off in spring, let it dry, fold it flat and put it away. It goes back on next fall.

When will it arrive?

The ship date and delivery window are shown right above the Add to cart button, worked out from today's date. You'll get tracking by email when it ships.

What if it doesn't fit?
